Pranamasana is the first and the last pose in the Sun salutation sequence. You start the sequence with this posture and also end the sequence with this pose. When you start the next round you would typically start from where the last round ended which is pranamasana.

In this pose you would stand straight with the hands joined together in front of your chest. You should concentrate on your breathing and set the focus on your next 11 postures. Inhale and exhale slowly two times before going to the next pose which is Hasta Uttanasana (Raise Arm Pose) with exhalation.
When you complete 11th pose and come to this pose you should come into this pose with exhalation.
During this pose make sure that the balance is proper and you are standing in proper stance which means your spine is straight and nice.
After you are stable then inhale and proceed to Hasta Uttanasana (Raise Arm Pose).
